This smoothie bowl is one of my favorite breakfast recipes! It is a simple breakfast that takes no more than 10 minutes to make. This recipe isn’t only delicious, it’s nutritious and healthy! You only need five ingredients and a blender. Let’s get started!
Ingredients:
2 cups frozen fruit (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries)
1 tbsp flax seeds
6-8 ounces coconut water
1/4 cup granola
1/2-1 cup fresh fruit (strawberries and blueberries)
First, make the base. Start with putting two cups of frozen fruit in the blender. For this recipe I used strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. You can mix it up and put any type of frozen fruit that is to your liking. Next, put a tablespoon of flax seeds into the blender. Flax seeds add more protein to the breakfast, that way you can start the day with energy! Now, pour 6-8 ounces of coconut water to the blender. If you prefer a different beverage such as, coconut milk or almond milk, then go for it! Now it’s time to mix! With the blender you can pulse with medium speed or use, if your blender has, a smoothie button. When the smoothie bowl is mixed, it should have a smooth consistency. Pour the smoothie into a bowl as the base of the breakfast. Next, sprinkle 1/4 cup granola on top of the smoothie’s base. If you are buying granola mix, the way to tell which granola is healthy is to simply check how much sugar is in it. The less the sugar, the better! Now too top off the smoothie bowl, put 1/2 cup to a full cup of fresh fruit. I used sliced strawberries and blueberries. You can use any type of delicious fresh fruit! Now eat up and enjoy your healthy, delicious breakfast!
Tip: Look for organic and certified non-GMO ingredients.
