After a workout, you need a snack that is going to energize you! My go-to snack after a good workout is protein. I have had one too many boring snacks. After all, we need to be happy about what we are eating. So, I created energy balls! They’re not your typical snack. They are packed with protein and fiber. Plus, they are simple and fun to make, and it is a no bake recipe. What is better than a post workout snack with dark chocolate and raspberries!?!
Prep time: 5 minutes
Blend time: 2-5 minutes
Roll time: 5-7 minutes
Cool time: 10-30 minutes
Ingredients:
∙1 cup old fashion rolled oats
∙1/3 cup almond butter
∙1 tbsp flax seeds
∙1/2 cup no sugar dark chocolate chips
∙Cup of frozen raspberries
∙1 tsp vanilla extract
This recipe is very simple and fun. Add all ingredients to the blender. The almond butter is what keeps the the batter together. If you need, add more almond butter. Blend on medium or high. The mixture might get stuck to the side of the blender. Turn off the blender and scrape the mixture off the side and blend again. The mixture needs to blend for 2-3 minutes. When mixed, take a spoonful of the mixture and roll in your hands, or you can use a scooper. When rolled, melt as much dark chocolate as you want. Then drizzle or dip the energy ball in the dark chocolate. Let the chocolate harden on parchment paper for 10-30 minutes, then refrigerate to keep for around 3 days. These are perfect for after a workout! Enjoy!
